Winter

Hey,

I am back with some new photos, this time of Winter. As quite some snow fell down here in the last couple of days, it was time to go out and check whether I could combine the snow with a nice evening wintersun. So, I went out with a friend of mine to shoot some Winter photos. It was a great experience and a perfect opportunity to wander about in the snow and enjoying the days before Chiristmas.
Here is what I came up with after this fieldtrip.

I hope you enjoy my photos!
Thanks for watching and, just so you know, comments and critiques are more than welcome!

Kind regards,

Tom

Culture & Life.

Hiya,

as promised here is my new blog post, of which I already published one photo last week.
It's on people, it's on daily life and habits, it even might be on different cultures.
I have shot a couple of Autumn photos but as I am going to the Ardennes this weekend, I hope I can shoot plenty of cool Autumn photos there.
Still feel free to send me your photos and share ideas on for example where to go to shoot some nice photos, or what technique to use these days!
My e-mail address can be found in my last blog post but here it is once again: tomrubenphotography@hotmail.com.
Here are my photos of this blog, they might seem the same but look for differences regarding cultural aspects! They are shot in; Istanbul &Budapest. I have many more, so feel free to ask to see them as well!

Kind regards,

Tom Ruben

Autumn is coming to town!

It's Autumn, days are getting shorter, nights longer. It's getting colder and darker, grim even. People get more depressed and we prepare for winter. But it's also the time of a change in nature, in landscape. Leaves are taking different colours, heavy rain falls occur and can create beautiful scenes! So Autumn, or Fall as some people may call it, is actually a very nice season which is great for photography! I have not yet been out to shoot some nature photos but I definitely will!

As it is getting darker, I might have to change my settings drastically, or I might just bring my tripod. There are lots of opportunites and scenes that are spectacular to see in Autumn, so go out and hunt for your best photo! If you shot it, please let me know as I'm very curious to see what other people create!
You can contact me in different ways: through twitter, facebook or email.
My email address is tomrubenphotography@hotmail.com
I hope to get lots of nice photos and maybe we are able to build a nice network of photographers sharing ideas and creativity. Feel free to send whatever you want!

As this post cannot be published without a photo, here is a photo I wanted to upload for a while. It actually belongs to one of my previous posts, but most of all.... it is a preview of an upcoming post!
I hope you like my photo and my blog!
Hopefully I will post my own Autumn photos soon!
Enjoy and keep up the good work!
Peace.

Today was the first day of Autumn, but it looked like a mid-summer day!
What a nice day to go out with a camera and try to make a nice summer photograph
And so I went out, I tried, I waited and tried again. I even got myself a little stool and waited for the perfect moment.
There were some bees in my garden and I focussed on shooting them, suddenly there was a nice moment and I went for it!
I knelt down even more so I was on an equal level to the bee! Click, zap! Got it!
Wanna see the result?
Here it is:

What I am trying to tell you, is that patience is a very important element of photography. I'm not always patient, but most of the time it is definitely worth waiting for! So next time you go out and shoot some shots, wait, look at your photo and decide for yourself whether this is what you wanted. Would you put it on your wall?
If not, try it again. Maybe from a different POV(point of view) might work.
Wait for the moment, the moment when your photo is not just a photo but got something special!
Of course this is all free to your own interpretation.

The photo above was shot with my 70 - 300 lens @ 300mm, with a shutterspeed of 1/400 and an iso of just 200 as it was a very bright day. The aperture was a very regular f/5.6.
Here are some more photos of today, I hope you enjoy them.
Please comment and share ideas, if you have your own blog, post it. Share for joy!
Thank you for your time!
Tom

P.S. If you wanna learn more on photography, feel free to ask and hopefully I can help you!
I'm not a professional so I might not know everything. If not, you can always visit this site http://craftandvision.com/ , where you can buy ebooks for a very little price created by very passionate professional photographers!

French Cuisine?

Hey you all,

How are you? Been up to much? Feel free to comment on my photos and blog, I'd love to hear what you think! Any comment is a useful comment. What do you like to 'shoot'?
I'm not a photographer interested in a particular field, I usually like to photograph wildlife and lifestyle, cars, people, architecture and basically everything around us!

Do you guys have a blog or twitter or anything like that? I'm on there as TomRuben or just Tom Ruben.
Just to update my blog here are some photos I personally like, I took them on my holiday in France. I hope you enjoy! Thank you!

Tom

P.S. As French Cuisine is very good, I obviously had to take photos of the food there! Bon Appetit!
